Found these two kids-related websites in my browsing recently, both found through Loobylu.
- Playground Finder
Set up by a couple of parents from Melbourne, this website is a directory of playgrounds in Australia. It’s not complete, but it’s growing. Users can submit information about playgrounds that they’ve come across and write a review. I like how they have info such as, whether the playground is fenced, suitability for toddlers or older kids, whether there are toilets, carpark, shopping centre, etc nearby.
This would be useful if you’d like to venture out to find other playgrounds than the usual ones that you’ve been going to. For me, I actually prefer going to playgrounds that are within walking distance from my home. But I can imagine that this website would be a great tool for when, say, you’re going on holidays and would like to know where the playgrounds are in your destination. I have heard that a playground can be like an oasis in the desert for tired parents especially when travelling. :)
- Kiddley
This one is the brainchild of Claire herself and her husband. I’ve enjoyed Claire’s writing (and illustrations) immensely, especially those related to motherhood and activities to do with kids — the cooking, book reading, crafting, etc. This new website/blog, Kiddley, is about “good ideas for you and your kids - activities, games, crafts, tips, gear to covet and projects to share.” Sounds fun!
A quick look through the website, shows exciting activities such as, books to read aloud to your kids, how to make juggling balls, how to grow a pineapple plant from the fruit, kids breakfast recipes, and more. I can’t wait to try these with Annette! *rubs hands with glee* Of course, not all of them is suitable for Annette’s age yet, but I can always keep them for future reference.
